I stopped treating Monday like the hardest day and started treating it like my competitive advantage. While everyone else is dragging through Monday morning fog, I'm three steps ahead. Not because I'm more disciplined, but because I have a system. I call it the "Weekly Reboot Template". So here's how to make Monday the best day of your week: 1. Reset Your Energy Morning Rule: Sunlight + Silence + Sweat before phone. No exceptions. Get outside for 10 minutes. Sit in silence for 5. Move your body before you check a single notification. This one habit sets the tone for your entire week. 2. Set The Intention Answer two questions: • This week I want to feel... • My single word for the week... Not goals.  Not tasks.  Feelings and focus. "This week I want to feel productive and present." "My word is 'clarity.'" Everything you do filters through this lens. 3. Top 3 Priorities (In Order) Not 10 priorities. Not 20 tasks. Three. Write them in order of impact. If you only accomplish these three things this week, would you consider it successful? If no, rewrite them. 4. Delete What Doesn't Matter Two questions: • I'm saying "no" to... • I'll automate or delegate... Subtraction creates space for what actually moves needles. Name what you're eliminating before you start adding. 5. Schedule Your Power Blocks Block your calendar in three categories: • Meetings • Deep work • Creative play Don't hope you'll find time. Design time. Protect your deep work blocks like they're investor meetings. 6. Design Your Environment Two questions: Where will I work from today? What can I remove from my space? Environment shapes behavior. A cluttered space creates a cluttered mind. Remove distractions before you need willpower to resist them. 7. End With Gratitude Close your Monday with two reflections: • One thing I'm proud of... • One way I'll reward myself tonight... Gratitude compounds momentum. Celebrate the win before chasing the next one. This entire template takes 15 minutes on Monday morning. But it saves you 10+ hours of wasted time, scattered focus, and decision fatigue throughout the week. Monday isn't the problem. Starting Monday without a system is the problem. I've used this exact template for the past year. Every single Monday. And Mondays went from my most dreaded day to my most productive day. __ Enjoy this? ♻️ Repost it to your network and follow Matt Gray for more. Your to-do list shouldn't control your life. 6 methods that kept me from losing my mind: (And doubled my output) 1. The Two-Minute Rule If something takes less than two minutes, do it immediately. Not later. Not tomorrow. But now. This simple rule prevents small tasks from snowballing into overwhelming anxiety. --- 2. Never Miss Another Detail I used to scramble taking notes during meetings + interviews, missing key points and action items. Now, I use Rev’s VoiceHub to auto-record and transcribe everything. It’s more accurate than alternatives like OtterAI and it’s easy to share the info with my team. --- 3. The Focus Formula 3 hours of deep work beats 8 hours of shallow work every time. Block your calendar, turn off notifications, set a timer, and just start. Watch your output soar. --- 4. Energy Management > Time Management Stop planning your day around the clock. Instead, match tasks to your natural rhythms – creative work in the morning, meetings after lunch, admin work when energy dips. Work with your body, not against it. --- 5. The Weekly Reset Ritual Every Sunday, clear your inbox, plan your priorities, set three main goals, and prepare your workspace. This turns Monday from a bottleneck into a launchpad. --- 6. Automate Everything Possible If you do something more than twice, automate it. From email templates to calendar scheduling, let tech handle the routine so you can focus on what matters. --- These tools & techniques will help you stay organized, manage your time better, and maintain your sanity. Try them out and see which ones work best for you. Reshare ♻ to help others. And follow me for more posts like this.

Time stops being your own the moment you become CEO. I remember taking over London radio station Kiss FM years ago. (The youthful demeanour in that photo didn’t last long 👶🏻 😂) In my first week as a CEO, my calendar filled up faster than a Glastonbury headline slot. Everyone wanted a catch-up or “just a quick word”. I spent so much time reacting to other people’s priorities that my real job - leading the company - got buried beneath the noise and it took me weeks to regain control of my own agenda. Here are four strategies that I still use today when I feel the outside world leaning in too far: 1. Turn your calendar into a fortress Block out “deep work” time every week for strategic thinking and high-impact work. Treat these blocks like your most important meetings. 2. Shrink your default meeting times Most meetings expand to fit the time they’re given. Set the calendar default to 30 minutes instead of an hour. You’ll be amazed at how much more productive they become. 3. Make stakeholders work for access Create clear communication rules with board members and investors. Regular updates are fine, but limit how often you’re available for drop-ins or last-minute calls. 4. Say no - without apology As CEO, your most powerful tool is focus. Politely but firmly decline anything that doesn’t align with your top priorities. Saying no isn’t selfish; it’s leadership. Master these, and you’ll feel a little less like the company’s busiest person - and a lot more like its most effective one.

1 out of 2 Indian employees struggle with mental health. This is a result of what we consider ‘normal’ work culture nowadays: - Long working hours, pressure to meet deadlines, and lack of boundaries. - Competitive work environments, high workload and restricted leaves. - Limited access to mental health resources, and insufficient support. - Fear of layoffs, restructuring, and uncertain economic conditions. I’ve personally also been in toxic work environments, working 24 hour shifts at times, without time to sleep, shower or eat. But I didn’t do anything, because these issues are stigmatised - and nobody was talking about them. If you’re under similar circumstances, I know how difficult and even helpless it can feel. But there are some factors you can control - and here’s how: ▶︎ 1. Prioritise disconnection: After work hours, silence notifications and try to spend offline time with your loved ones. Make it clear to your colleagues that you will not be available during certain hours. ▶︎ 2. Spend time with yourself: Find activities you enjoy doing alone - like reading, cooking, or even playing a video game. This will help you recharge your social battery and feel at peace. ▶︎ 3. Open up about your struggles: Talk to your favourite colleague(s) about what you’re facing — they’re likely going through similar problems too. Having their support can make a lot of difference. ▶︎ 4. Use those vacation days: A lot of corporate professionals hesitate to use their leaves to maintain a stronger image with their boss. But this only makes things worse, so plan a getaway when you can. ▶︎ 5. Have a conversation with your boss: I know this isn’t an easy conversation to initiate, but it’s the only way you can get things to change. Schedule a meeting with them, be open about how you’ve been feeling, and ask for their help in finding a solution. Remember that 1 in 2 people are facing similar problems - so your boss and colleagues have probably been through this too. So let’s not suffer in silence anymore. Let’s take the right steps and have open conversations that can make a difference. Have you ever struggled with mental health because of work? #healthandwellness #work #mentalhealth

I am (not) your mother, Luke.   Or your sister. Or girlfriend. Or your wife.   I am your boss.   And yet, as a female leader, I often found that my team members unconsciously placed me in a caregiving role. Which triggered in me a need to nurture them, which undermined my authority, and was no good for any of us.   I’m not alone in this. Many of the women leaders I work with in my role as mentor say the same thing. That when they have to make tough decisions, they get reactions that their male equivalents simply don’t have to face.   👩👦 The ‘mother’ role. You’re expected to be nurturing, to provide emotional support and protection. And any criticism may be taken as harsh, like being told off by mummy. 👩 The ‘sister’ role: You’re expected to be friendly, collaborative and fun. Assertiveness can be misread as aggression. 👰♀️ The ‘girlfriend / wife’ role: You’re expected to take on emotional labour, be a supportive ear, or even hand conflict in a soothing manner. These roles are a trap for women in business, where they feel that they have to balance warmth with authority, competence with compassion. And it’s exhausting!   The struggle is real ❌ Women may struggle to progress if they don’t conform to caregiving expectations ❌ Feedback from women leaders is more likely to be taken personally, rather than as professional guidance ❌ Women leaders may try to do it all, fulfilling both emotional and professional expectations – leading to burnout   To avoid this trap, women often try to take on what they perceive as a male archetype – becoming cold and harsh. But that’s not the best way forward. The answer is authenticity. How to be just you ✅ Educate your team and yourself about these biases – knowing about them is the first step to avoiding them ✅ Set boundaries – be clear about professional expectations versus personal involvement ✅ Communicate honestly – don’t feel you have to soften your message, be direct and clear ✅ Support other women – advocate for structures that allow women to lead without having to take on caregiving expectations. It’s time women stopped trying to be everything to everyone and focused on being just the very best version of themselves.   What about you? Are you a female leader who finds herself being put in these boxes? Are you a man working with women who expects them to be the caregivers? Let me know! ⬇️

Work shouldn’t cost you the things that matter most. Too often, people sacrifice their health, relationships, and happiness for their jobs. On Thanksgiving let's get that balance right. But the most successful professionals understand this simple truth: Work and well-being can coexist. Here are 5 principles to create a fulfilling work-life balance: 1. 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 → Define your work hours and stick to them. → Protect your personal time like it’s a crucial meeting. 2. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 → Focus on high-impact tasks and let go of unnecessary ones. → Don’t let fake urgencies derail your priorities. 3. 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 → Choose roles or policies that allow for remote or flexible work. → Flexibility isn’t a perk—it’s a necessity for well-being. 4. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗢𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 → Speak up about unreasonable workloads or toxic cultures. → Companies that prioritize well-being listen to employee feedback. 5. 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 → Choose roles and employers that align with your personal mission. → Success without fulfillment is a sign to reevaluate. Your work shouldn’t cost you your joy or health. In any workplace, an inverse relationship exists between training and development and the disengagement of your people. It's subtle, however it's there and painfully evident. Investing in our people’s personal development can mitigate disengagement and represents a prime opportunity to enhance individual performance. Here's why: “The space between our practiced values (in reality what we do, think, and feel) and our aspirational values (what we want to do, think, and feel) is the value gap or disengagement divide.” This quote from Brené Brown informs us that many in our workforce don’t value their jobs because they are not being fulfilled, either personally or professionally. They are disengaged. John Maxwell Company Facilitator and Coach, Perry Holley, backed this up on a recent edition of the Maxwell Executive Leadership podcast, "The bottom line from our research indicates that, on any given team, about 70% of the people aren't helping to row the boat". That equates to 7 of every 10 team members being disengaged, either not knowing how to do their job correctly, or not contributing. How do we explain this? Simply stated by Holley, “these are people who aren't being actively developed.” He further shares "as a leader, you can influence the engagement level of people on your team when you invest in developing them each as individuals." When people are involved with development activities, they act on personal experience and aspirations as part of a plan that focuses on their individual development. They are closing their value gap. When we are acting on any activity that improves the organization, we are involved in execution. Execution is what gets us to the results we need. Developing your people helps with everything from improving daily performance and increasing retention, providing them with new skills needed for personal and career growth. Training and development provides people with a worldview much larger than they could acquire on their own. It excites them about their work and the possibilities it holds for their future. Here's another good reason to commit to your people. No one individual believes that they're bad at their job. Think about that statement and you can understand the two main reasons why; 1) no one has ever given them constructive feedback on their performance, or 2) no one has bothered to spend time with them to help them personally develop. Even the smallest investment of time spent learning something new or working with someone experienced has value to a team member. If the boat carrying your team isn't moving as fast and efficiently as it could be check to see who's not rowing, and then ask them how their personal development plan is going. The answer they share might surprise you. #ceos #leadership #peopledevelopment #execution Development can start here, check out https://lnkd.in/gXpc_pyu for more tips and leadership wisdom.

Research consistently shows that sustainable personal transformation happens through internal motivation. Don't believe it? Take a look: ✅ 52% higher goal achievement rates for intrinsically motivated individuals (Journal of Personality Research, 2023) ✅ 3.4x greater persistence when change is self-initiated (American Psychological Association, 2022) ✅ 76% greater likelihood of maintaining changes after 6 months with autonomous motivation (Behavioral Science Group, 2024) These are the five essential components I use with my clients that you can use right now to kickstart your motivation : 1.) Design your accountability structure: Establish personalized check-in systems matching your motivation style. People with accountability partners are 65% more likely to complete goals (American Society of Training and Development). 2.) Craft your discomfort protocol: Develop systematic exposure to productive challenge zones. Stanford research on "deliberate practice" shows this approach significantly accelerates resilience. 3.) Develop your motivation maintenance: Determine which reinforcement techniques sustain your drive. University of Pennsylvania research shows "implementation intentions" increase follow-through by 91%. 4.) Create your environment optimization: Design spaces to eliminate friction for desired behaviors. Duke University studies demonstrate environment design can be twice as effective as willpower alone. 5.) Formulate your identity reinforcement: Select practices that strengthen your self-concept as someone who follows through. Identity-based habits form more permanently than outcome-based habits (European Journal of Social Psychology). Follow this framework to systematically build the version of yourself that refuses to tolerate what's holding you back. You got this. Coaching can help; let's chat. #executivecoaching #mindset #motivation

If you don’t control your time, someone else will. 7 time management frameworks to own your time: 1) Measuring my time At the age of 14, I started preparing for engineering exams, only to realise I just could not manage my time. So I recorded every hour of my day; I did this for 13 years. Just this act of measurement led to the act of improvement. Do it for 10 days and you will see the difference. 2) Time blocking I realised context switching was taking a toll. I started blocking 2-3 hours and have been doing so till date. Monday AM: X Monday PM: Y Tuesday all day: Z 3) Win the week, not the day Think of your week as your time unit, not your day. Think of what you wish to achieve in a week. And split your week to achieve that. 4) Single source of action We are constantly being fed a to-do list. From multiple sources. What helps me is to have a single source of action - my emails. It can be a to-do app for you, a notebook, or post-its - anything except your memory. 5) Create repeatable tasks I am a student of processes. So my endeavour is - find something I need to do in life, and find a way to convert it into a recurring task which I can add to my calendar. It builds a habit, routine, and discipline for your mind. 6) Setup distraction time Our mind craves distraction because we make it a forbidden fruit. Do the opposite. Set up time to waste time. 7) Zoom out We struggle to manage time, because we look at it in a micro way. Go back to the macro. What do you want to achieve this month, quarter, or year? What are the big milestones that will get you there (or tell you that you are on the path)? Did that happen this week? If yes - great. If not - go back to step 1 and figure out what went wrong. Repeat every week.

Focus on “Cause” NOT “Effect” The cause and effect theory states that every action (cause) leads to a corresponding outcome (effect). Staying "in cause" means taking responsibility for your actions and attitudes, which directly influences the outcomes in your life. This is crucial for several reasons: Empowerment and Control: Acknowledging your actions affect your outcomes empowers you to take control of your life and make deliberate choices. Accountability: Staying in cause fosters accountability, reducing the tendency to blame external factors for failures and encouraging personal growth. Proactive Attitude: It encourages proactive behavior, making you an active participant in creating the life you desire. Improved Relationships: Taking responsibility for your behavior builds trust and respect, enhancing interpersonal relationships. Problem-Solving: Recognising your role in problems improves your ability to find effective solutions and prevent future issues. How to Stay in Cause Self-Reflection: Regularly reflect on your actions and their outcomes. Journaling can help track and analyze your behaviors. Set Clear Goals: Define clear, achievable goals and outline steps to reach them, keeping you focused on productive actions. Develop a Growth Mindset: Believe in your ability to grow through effort, viewing challenges as opportunities to learn. Take Responsibility: Own your mistakes and learn from them, evaluating what you could have done differently. Maintain a Positive Attitude: Focus on what you can control, cultivating a positive outlook to stay motivated and resilient. Seek Feedback: Actively seek feedback to gain different perspectives on your actions, using constructive criticism to improve. Practice Mindfulness: Engage in mindfulness practices like meditation to increase self-awareness and align your actions with your intentions. Surround Yourself with Supportive People: Build a network of supportive friends and mentors who encourage you to stay in cause, providing motivation and accountability. Staying in cause with your actions and attitude is key to personal and professional success. By taking responsibility for your behaviors and their outcomes, you empower yourself to create a fulfilling and productive life. Through self-reflection, goal-setting, a growth mindset, and supportive practices, you can maintain a cause-oriented approach and continuously improve your ability to shape your destiny
