The reason your nonprofit's strategic plan can't seem to ignite your team? The plan doesn’t make their daily work easier. Too many strategic plans are packed with big goals and no clear day-to-day alignment. Staff see them as "extra" rather than essential. Board members review them once and move on. Leadership assumes things are moving forward. But the plan sits on the shelf. Instead, make strategy impossible to ignore by integrating it into the daily work. • Break big goals into 90-day execution cycles. Long-term plans fail when short-term action steps are unclear. Reverse engineer what success looks like in 3 months ->1 month -> 1 week. • Align KPIs with actual job roles. A KPI (Key Performance Indicator) is a measurable goal that tracks progress toward a strategic priority. Each person on your team should see how their work directly aligns within the plan. • Set a Weekly Focus. Strategy execution can falter when everything is treated as urgent. One approach is to decide on a single priority area or “theme” for the week. Example: Week 1: Donor Communication; Week 2: Program Development; Week 3: Staff Training. A weekly focus doesn’t mean everything else stops, but when a battle of priorities emerges, it helps keep the team on track. • Ensure leadership models follow-through. If executives and board members only talk about the plan once a year, it won’t stick. Progress check-ins should be built into regular meetings. Ask your team what you can do to remove barriers and bring that insight to board meetings. Strategy isn’t a document. It’s a set of decisions that guide what actually gets done. The more it connects to your daily work, the less likely it is to collect dust. What’s one thing that has helped your organization keep your strategic plan relevant and useful?

Summary
Short-term action plans are practical strategies that outline specific steps to achieve goals within a set period, usually from a week to a quarter. These plans help individuals and organizations focus on immediate priorities and create momentum for long-term success.
- Break down goals: Divide big objectives into smaller, manageable tasks with clear timelines so you know exactly what to work on each day or week.
- Establish measurable checkpoints: Set up key metrics and regular check-ins to track progress, celebrate small wins, and adjust your actions when needed.
- Build consistent routines: Create predictable schedules and habits that keep everyone accountable and engaged, whether it’s weekly meetings or daily reminders.

I was six months into the year without a plan — and everything I did just added noise. Here’s how a simple shift flipped my pipeline and energized our team in under 48 hours. 📌 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝: 𝐀 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝-𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 ⇢ ↳ You're halfway there — but all your goals and momentum are trapped in your head. ↳ Without structure, Q3 and Q4 risk becoming reactive: chasing leads, firefighting, short-term fixes. ✖ Stop hoping for results — start planning to make them. 𝟏. 𝟗𝟎‑𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐬 Divide H2 into three focused sprints (90 days each): ⇢ 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 #𝟏: Audit — Diagnose pipelines, objections, team gaps ⇢ 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 #𝟐: Execute — Targeted playbooks, weekly sprints, accountability ⇢ 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 #𝟑: Scale — Upsell, team expansion, leadership handoffs 𝟐. 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 Pick 3–5 KPIs that drive behavior and results: ↳ Activity levels (calls, demos) ↳ Conversion rate ↳ Average deal value ↳ Retention or upsell rate 𝟑. 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 Build-in predictable structure: ⇢ Monday Sales Huddle ⇢ Mid‑week one‑on‑one check-ins ⇢ End‑of‑week pipeline forecast 𝟒. 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 Every 30 days, test something new (a script tweak, outreach channel, coaching tool). Track results and scale what works. 💡 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 Clarity over chaos: You stop winging it. The team knows the map. Momentum builds culture: Small wins in each sprint compound into big wins. Course‑correct fast: You see when something’s off — and pivot in real‑time. ✅ 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 Block 60 minutes this week to map your second‑half themes Define your top 3 KPIs — share them team-wide Launch your weekly rhythm: huddle → 1:1s → forecast Run your first mini‑experiment in Sprint #1 (pick a single variable) 🚀 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟-𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐩 No plan without review. At the halfway mark of each sprint, pause. Ask: Did we hit the goal? What’s working? What’s breaking? Then adjust the next 30 days accordingly. 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 The second half of the year isn’t “unplanned hustle.” It’s your intentional leap toward what matters. Set your roadmap. Engage your team. Build the results you’re aiming for. ✨ The new year brings new opportunities—but only if you’re ready. Here’s how to position yourself for success in the first quarter of 2025: 1️⃣ Audit your online presence First impressions happen online. Whether it's your LinkedIn profile, personal website, or even your social media, make sure they reflect who you are and where you're headed in your career. 👉 Quick Tip: Update your LinkedIn headline to include your current role + key skills or achievements. Example: “Project Manager | Delivering complex IT solutions ahead of schedule & under budget.” 2️⃣ Set SMART goals for Q1 Clarity is key. Define Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound goals for the first three months. 👉 Example: Instead of saying, “I want to grow my network,” try “I will connect with 10 new professionals in my industry each week and engage with their content meaningfully.” 3️⃣ Reconnect with your network Opportunities often come from those you already know. Take the time to reach out, check in, and rekindle old connections. 👉 What to say: “Hi [Name], it’s been a while! I noticed you’ve been working on [project/topic]. Would love to catch up and hear more about it. Let me know if you’re free for a quick virtual coffee!” 4️⃣ Identify key opportunities Look beyond job boards. Keep an eye on your target companies for new projects, leadership changes, or expansion plans that could signal upcoming opportunities. 👉 Proactive Strategy: Create a shortlist of 10 companies and start engaging with decision-makers by commenting on their posts or sharing thoughtful insights. 5️⃣ Build a habit of consistency Consistency wins over motivation. Whether it’s updating your skills, building your network, or applying for roles, showing up regularly is what creates long-term success. 👉 Action Plan: Block time each week to focus on job search activities—networking, upskilling, and applications. Treat it like an important meeting you can’t cancel. 💡 Final Thought: The first quarter is the perfect time to build momentum. Whether you’re looking for a new role or seeking to grow in your current one, positioning yourself early gives you a head start on making 2025 your most successful year yet. 🔖 Save this post to revisit your action plan, and if you’re ready to dive deeper into a career strategy that works, stay tuned for more posts coming your way! 🚀 #CareerDevelopment #JobSearch #NewYearGoals #Networking #ProfessionalGrowth

Air pollution is killing us. Bangladesh can’t wait. Air pollution won’t fix itself. But here’s the truth: we don’t have to wait for governments to fix everything. Here’s what we can do RIGHT NOW (and what policymakers need to do next): 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁-𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻-𝗟𝗲𝗱, 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀) 1️⃣ Install low-cost air quality monitors → Crowdfund sensors and publish real-time data on social media. Awareness starts with knowing the problem. 2️⃣ Reduce vehicle idling → Run campaigns encouraging drivers to turn off engines. Small habits = big impact. 3️⃣ Enforce covering of construction sites → Citizens can report violations to authorities. Education + accountability = change. 4️⃣ Launch a viral awareness campaign → Highlight the health impacts of air pollution, especially on children and the elderly. Share personal stories. Demand action. 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺-𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀) Easy Wins: 5️⃣ Retrofit vehicles with catalytic converters → Subsidize retrofitting for clean air. 6️⃣ Ban unfit vehicles from the roads → Strict inspections = cleaner cities. 7️⃣ Reduce import duties on air purifiers → From 74% to 16% = affordable solutions for all. Harder Moves: 8️⃣ Install scrubbers in factories → Nighttime monitoring to catch illegal emissions. 9️⃣ Regulate brick kilns → Support a transition to cleaner technologies. 🔟 Modernize waste management → Waste-to-energy initiatives reduce harmful methane emissions. 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 Develop industrial zones away from residential areas Strengthen environmental regulations with real enforcement → Create an anti-pollution task force. Involve experts, government organizations, and businesses.

If I woke you up at 3am, would you be able to quickly describe your own marketing plan for generating a steady stream of client leads? Don’t worry, I’m not planning on breaking into your house. Plus, I'm never up at 3am. 😜 But this is a good question to ask yourself. You probably have a good idea of what that strategy looks like. But I bet things break down as you move from strategy to planning to execution. If that sounds like you, try this idea: Write down your marketing action plan on a 3x5 index card. Doing so forces you to condense your plan into an easily absorbable form. And it provides a simple visual reminder you can use to keep yourself on track. What should that card look like? Here’s an example: Title the index card with the time frame it covers. Generally, I recommend working in quarters because I find that 90 days is a nice chunk of time. In the left column, write down your baseline prospecting mix. List the three or four strategies you’re starting with. In the right column, write down your prospecting schedule. Indicate what prospecting activity you’ll do on which days. And how many hours you’ll spend per day. As you get started with this, begin with smaller, micro-actions of activity of about 30 minutes in length. You want to keep this doable until it becomes a habit. As you get more experience, you can increase the amount to an hour or two on some days. By plotting out your time in this way, you’ll be more realistic about the impact to your week’s work capacity. Once you’ve completed the index card, put it somewhere highly visible, such as your office bulletin board. Or tape it to your monitor. #MarketingStrategy #LeadGeneration #ActionPlan #BusinessPlanning

𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀. If your team’s goals sound great on paper but never move the needle — this one’s for you. There’s a difference between having an idea and having a plan. That’s where the SMART framework earns its stripes. Here’s how to make your next action plan SMART: 1️⃣ Specific – Is the focus crystal clear, or are you solving five problems at once? 2️⃣ Measurable – Can you actually track progress, or is it based on “I think we’re doing better”? 3️⃣ Actionable – Is it something that can be completed through effort, not luck? 4️⃣ Realistic – Is the goal within the person’s skill set and time capacity? 5️⃣ Time-Bound – Is there a deadline or cadence for accountability? Example in action: Meet Joe. Joe’s great with clients, knows his product, and closes deals. But his results are slipping. After reviewing his activity, the issue isn’t skill — it’s focus. He’s not prospecting enough. Here’s how his manager helped him build a SMART plan: ✅ Specific: Focus on prospecting activity only (calls, emails, or stops — not servicing calls). ✅ Measurable: Increase from 10 to 30 prospecting activities per week. ✅ Actionable: Schedule two 30-minute prospecting blocks per day and share the calendar with his manager. ✅ Realistic: Joe already has the skill — he just needed structure. ✅ Time-Bound: 60-day plan with check-ins every two weeks and CRM reviews every Friday at 2PM. Within a few weeks, Joe didn’t just “feel” busier — he was more productive, more confident, and back on track. “You can’t improve what you don’t measure.” – Peter Drucker “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry “Discipline turns potential into progress.” – Matt Antonucci If you’re struggling to move the needle, revisit your goals and ask: Is this SMART, or just hopeful? 🔄 What’s one way you’ve made your team’s goals SMARTer? Drop an example below — it might help another leader today. #LeadershipDevelopment #LeadingTheFront #GoalSetting #SMARTGoals #SalesLeadership -------------- Want more like this in your feed? ➡️Engage (like/comment/repost) ➡️Go to Matt Antonucci and click/tap the (🔔) 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀. 😊

📚 If you DON'T have an internship this summer... Please don't panic. An empty summer schedule doesn't mean a stalled career. It’s actually a blank canvas to build your own experience. If you are a student still searching or sitting out this internship cycle, here is your action plan to stay ahead: 🎯 1. Upskill with Micro-Credentials You don't need a formal corporate program to learn. Action: Dedicate a few hours a week to earning a certificate. LinkedIn Learning Community is a fantastic place to start, and Google offers incredible free courses in data, marketing, and project management. Bonus: Add these certificates directly to your LinkedIn profile the day you finish them! (your resume needs updating as well) 💡 2. Launch a Passion Project Can’t find a company to work for? Be your own boss. Action: Start a blog, build a website, launch a podcast, or analyze a case study in your field. Why it works: A tangible passion project shows hiring managers initiative, creativity, and self-motivation—three things you can't easily teach. 🎇 3. Lean into Transferable Skills Don’t underestimate the power of "non-corporate" work. Action: Volunteer for a local non-profit, work a part-time retail/service job, or help a local small business with their social media. Meet people and network. Why it works: Leadership, conflict resolution, time management, and communication are highly valued in every industry. Transferable skills matter! 🔎 No matter your situation, use LinkedIn to level up: 💻 Research early career professionals: Find alumni or peers who have the exact roles you admire. Look at what they did during their college summers. 💬 Reach out for informational interviews: Networking isn't scary when you're just asking to learn. A short, genuine message goes a long way: "Hi [Name]! I’m exploring careers in [Field] and would love to hear how you got started. Do you have 10 minutes for a quick virtual coffee sometime?" 💭 Be an active observer: Follow industry leaders, join relevant LinkedIn groups, and leave thoughtful comments on posts in your field. The Bottom Line: This summer, you don’t need everything figured out — you just need to take action. Small steps are still steps! 🚶🏽 Drop a 💡 in the comments if you’re ready to take action this week, or tag a student who needs to see this!

What should brands do in the short term with the uncertainty of tariffs? In early 2020, I was at Pinterest. As we all know, the world shifted overnight with Covid-19. Every week felt like a new crisis. Brands were freezing budgets. No one had answers. But instead of going silent, we turned up the volume. We launched more content. We stayed connected to our customers and Pinterest community. We stayed human. And it worked. Today’s tariff surge feels familiar — especially for brands dependent on Chinese manufacturing or international markets for revenue. It’s week-to-week, unpredictable, and economically risky. But that doesn’t mean brands are powerless. Here’s an action plan to help brand leaders move fast and smart — inspired by the COVID-era pivot playbook: Phase 1 – REASSURE + COMMUNICATE What to do: A. Proactively communicate on pricing, availability, and service continuity — even if you don’t have perfect answers. B. Use email, website banners, and customer service scripts to address: - Will prices change? - Will availability shift? - What should loyal customers expect? Why it works: Silence = fear. Transparency = trust. Even a message like “We’re monitoring the situation and will give you updates weekly” buys brand grace. Phase 2 – OPTIMIZE WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL → Identify and feature tariff-free or lower-impact SKUs, at least in the short term. → Use bundles, value packs to preserve revenue. → Support retail partners with talking points and price-change context. Phase 3 – ACTIVATE YOUR WAR ROOM What to do: A. Huddle weekly to track: - Cash flow - Logistics delays - Real-time COGS shifts B. Run mini forecasting sprints: - Model for 5%, 10%, 15% cost increases and set thresholds for action (e.g. “If margin drops below X%, pause spend on Y”). - Set action triggers: At what point do you adjust pricing, pause spend, or switch channels? Why it matters: This is the “COVID CFO Zoom room” all over again. CMOs and COOs who collaborate tightly will know when to pause, pivot, or push. Bonus move: Build a simple dashboard to visualize impact scenarios for execs — they’ll love you for it. Phase 4 – DRIVE LOYALTY + FUTURE-PROOF What to do: If you can’t promise low prices, promise high value. Shift your messaging to outcomes, experience, lifestyle, identity. Examples: A luggage brand: “Every adventure starts with feeling ready. Tariffs or not, your journey matters.” A food brand: “Quality, nutrition, and joy — no shortcuts here.” Why: Even if prices go up, customers are more forgiving when they feel the value. And frankly, consumers are already conditioned to expect price swings. This is the kind of moment that reveals your brand’s character. And customers will remember how you showed up when things got hard. Need help mapping this out for your team? Let’s talk. #MarketingStrategy #Tariffs #BrandLeadership #MarketingInUncertainty #CMO #SupplyChain #BrandPlanning #ContentStrategy #CustomGPT #AI

Don't get ghosted by your Annual Marketing Plan! It's officially Halloween, but the scariest thing in our industry shouldn't be a hotel's empty ballroom...it's having a great plan that you never actually execute. That hefty annual strategy you just wrote? It's the map to your treasure, but you need to turn it into a series of small, bite sized action plans to avoid the marketing mayhem! Here's how we break that beast down into S.C.A.R.Y Action Plans for the quarter: S - Specifically define the goal. Turn broad goals (like "increase bookings") into precise, measurable targets (e.g.: Achieve a 15% increase in Direct Web Bookings for Q1"). C - Choose your critical path. For each quarterly goal, identify the three most important campaigns, or channels, that will drive that result. If Q4 is holiday group bookings, dedicate 80% of your Action Plan to outreach and package promotions. A - Allocate the assets. Assign specific owners, budgets, and deadlines to every task. Accountability is the antidote to ambiguity. R - Review the ROI(Return on Intention). Set a weekly check-in to track progress. Are you on pace to hit your target? If a campaign is a 'ghost'(performing poorly), be ready to pivot or reallocate budget to a 'treat'(high performing) channel. Y - Yield the results. Document the outcomes, both good and bad. This is your historical 'tomb' of data that makes next year's planning so much easier and smarter. Don't let your brilliant strategy haunt your hard drive. Break it down, assign the tasks, and start conjuring those bookings! Happy Halloween and thanks for laughing at the puns 🦇 #PhoenixRising #PunsAreFun #HotelMarketing #Leadership #ActionPlan #RevenueStartegy #MarketingStrategy

Most of the business owners I worked for in my 20+ years of running business had a business playbook that looked similar to this one: - Do your best. - Grow if you can. - Make a profit if possible. If you can relate, you are not alone. But what if it did not have to be like this? Here is how I help business owners create a real 3-year profitable business growth plan - that... Doesn't suck ❌ Actually works ✔️ Doesn't lead to burnout 🤯 Step 1️⃣: Audit the numbers — revenue, profit, offers, client mix, and team performance. Step 2️⃣: Identify the biggest bottleneck hurting cash flow right now. Step 3️⃣: Set 1 growth goal and 1 profit goal — and kill everything that distracts. Step 4️⃣: Build a 90-day action map that focuses energy, not drains it. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 4 - Building a 90-day Action Plan: 1. Choose 3 priorities for the next quarter—no more, no less. 2. List the specific actions for each priority. Make them clear and measurable. 3. Assign owners to every action. Accountability matters here. 4. Schedule check-ins. Weekly or biweekly, to keep momentum and spot roadblocks early. 5. Measure what matters—track the numbers tied to your growth and profit goals, not vanity metrics. This is what keeps owners focused. It stops random distractions from hijacking your plan. And it brings real, sustained progress—without running yourself ragged. Your next 3 years are built in these next 90 days. Make them count. Here's to your growth 👊 ↘️ Hi!
