Loewe keeps winning on TikTok because they just get “the lore”. The Spanish luxury fashion house has quietly mastered something extremely valuable: authentic cultural integration through strategic partnerships with niche content creators who've built recognizable content formats. The two most recent examples showcase their approach: First there’s @anthonybackup9 who filmed himself literally just standing in front of passing train a bag in a hand and being all melancholic, listening to one of Lorde’s top hits “Buzzcut Season”. This video blew up, as it perfectly captures the nostalgia of this song as Lorde resurfaces in pop culture through her Charli XCX collaboration and upcoming album release. Loewe just asked him to recreate the video, handing him a branded bag and THE tomato bag (that’s a whole story in itself), letting the video speak for itself — no big changes, creative direction. The second example is their collaboration with @antthrowny, who started hammer throwing his boombox while listening to trending pop songs (Sabrina Carpenter’s pLeAsE pLeAsE pLeAsE ᵈᵒⁿᵗ ᵖʳᵒᵛᵉ ⁱᵐ ʳⁱᵍʰᵗ went VIRAL). And again — Loewe didn’t reinvent his content or impose their messaging: they simply integrated their product into his existing, proven format while he wore/threw their pieces naturally. This might be an interesting content formula and cast brands and marketeers could learn from: identify pop culture angles already gaining viral momentum, partner with creators who have cultural relevance (not a follower count!!) and execute product placement that feels native to the platform, creator and format. If you really want to create “authentic” branded content to better engage with potential consumers, this is the way to go. (Plus your marketing dollars might go much further as the cost per collab will likely be much lower than one big celebrity endorsement. (As always, you can find the videos in the comments)

I walked into Harvey Nichols this week and witnessed the new-age QVC in real time. Two live sellers were streaming Moncler on TikTok to viewers in Asia, right there on the shop floor. A steady stream of orders flowing in. Is this the future of luxury live streaming? Going live from inside the luxury store itself. Live selling on apps like TikTok and Whatnot is reshaping e-commerce and the top sellers are making five and six figures in a single livestream!! → Global live commerce was estimated at $𝟭𝟯𝟱–𝟭𝟱𝟬 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, mostly driven by China but growing quickly in the US and Europe. → McKinsey projected it could reach 𝟮𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗲-𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲 in some markets by 2026. → TikTok users are 𝟭.𝟰𝘅 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗹𝘆 to buy something they discover on the platform compared with other channels. And for luxury, this is where it gets interesting. People still trust physical retail for authenticity. They want to know the item is real, the provenance is real, the seller is real. At the same time, discovery has moved online and impulse buying is happening in the moment. Put those together and you get a new format: 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 + 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽. You get the credibility of Harvey Nichols or Selfridges × the reach of TikTok audiences across Asia, the US and Europe. Standard live commerce already converts at 𝟯–𝟭𝟬𝘅 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗲-𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺. Add the trust signals of a well-known retailer and the potential is obvious. For overseas audiences, it’s the appeal of shopping “live in London” without being anywhere near London. This is why platforms like Amazon Live, TikTok Shop and Whatnot are pushing so hard. And why sellers are becoming performers. TikTok Shop is actually a client of OK COOL, and the scale we’re seeing behind the scenes tells you exactly where this is heading 🚀 Feels like the start of something mega…. are you buying luxury live?

Another signal that TikTok Shop is becoming core retail infrastructure for big brands. L'Oréal recently shared results from launching on TikTok Shop in the UK. The results after just 9 days: → Top 15 beauty brand on the platform → Their new Tube Mascara went viral → The iconic Naked Palette sold out in 48 hours For a Luxe beauty brand, that’s remarkable. But the interesting part isn’t the numbers. It’s the operating model behind them. Three takeaways from the launch: 1. Product-market fit is now visible in real time. On TikTok Shop, the community and the data quickly reveal which products actually resonate. Brands don’t need months of market research anymore, the signal appears directly in the content and sales velocity. 2. Price gets the click. Value builds the brand. Discounts can trigger conversions, but long-term growth still depends on perceived value and brand strength. 3. Distribution = creators. Scaling on TikTok Shop isn’t about one big campaign. It’s about an affiliate army of creators who genuinely like the product and distribute it through content. When companies like L'Oréal start adopting that playbook, it’s a clear sign that discovery commerce has moved from experiment to default.

We’ve made countless TikTok Shop PNLs for Sephora and Ulta Beauty brands. Here’s what I know and can tell you for sure. Part 1 👉 1. There is no shortage of trade-offs when it comes to TikTok Shop investment. For some brands, it’s a brand awareness play with an incredible halo effect. Other brands really care about achieving profitability and that’s okay too. It’s not our place as the agency to tell you to prioritize profitability or scale, only to steer your TikTok Shop strategy in a direction you’ll be happiest with, be honest with you about expected outcomes, and keep you informed at all times. BUT— 2. No one, not one brand, avoids negative profitability in the cold start phase. And this makes logical sense. You’re investing into your Shop and your affiliate program from day 1, but your GMV needs time to ramp up and significantly exceed these costs on a monthly basis. Realistically, this will take at least 6 months. 3. Large discounts are a very effective way to kill your profitability (or the profitability you’re working towards). You don’t need to do heavy discounting to be successful in generating sustainable and meaningful GMV on TikTok Shop. That’s an old model and outdated way of thinking about the channel. Intentional brand-building, increased brand awareness, quality creative, and strategic product bundling will do the heavy lifting. No steep price cut or constant sale is required when you’re consistently doing the hard, but necessary work. 4. Your shipping costs are too high. Your COGS are not what’s making the affiliate sampling expensive; it’s your shipping costs. Find a more affordable solution for the long-term. Everyone overlooks this because it’s a larger conversation, but it’s important if you’re committed to TikTok Shop. Part 2 coming up! ✍

At Social Snowball ☃️ , we’ve helped over 2,500 brands crush it with affiliate marketing. Now, there’s a game changer on the horizon: TikTok Shop is redefining how brands acquire customers. I’ve developed a framework to help you win on TikTok Shop 🛍️ — but first, why TikTok Shop? TikTok Shop combines entertainment and shopping in a way that drives frictionless, in-app purchases. Users can buy your products without ever leaving the app, which makes impulse buys almost effortless. It’s the perfect solution for brands struggling to turn social engagement into actual sales. Let’s break down the framework👇 1. Set Up Your TikTok Shop • Register for TikTok Shop and handle the paperwork. • Choose your fulfillment strategy: self-fulfillment or TikTok’s partners. • Add your products using a reliable connector like AfterShip (avoid the default Shopify connector). 2. Influencer Outreach • Identify influencers with a proven track record for driving sales. • Use TikTok’s influencer portal to vet them by real performance metrics. • Reach out to many influencers to boost your chances of securing partnerships. 3. Content & Rights Management • Secure rights to repurpose influencer-created content. • Use tools like TikTokio to download content without watermarks. • Build a library of top-performing videos to fuel future campaigns. 4. Performance Tracking & Optimization • Track which content drives the most sales and engagement. • Continuously adjust your strategy based on real-time data. • A/B test different content styles and product presentations. 5. Leveraging Viral Content • Repurpose successful TikTok content into ads for other platforms. • Use TikTok-style content to boost SEO on platforms like Amazon. Why TikTok Shop is a Game Changer: ✔️ Closed ecosystem: Track everything in one place. ✔️ Performance-based: Only pay influencers when they generate sales. ✔️ Repurpose content: Viral TikTok posts often thrive on other platforms too. Why Social Snowball? With our TikTok Shop integration, Social Snowball makes managing affiliates a breeze: • Unified affiliate management: Manage your TikTok Shop and DTC affiliates from one intuitive platform. • Seamless onboarding: Simplify the sign-up process for both TikTok Shop and other DTC programs in one unified flow. • Consolidated reporting: Get full visibility on how your affiliates are driving revenue across both Shopify and TikTok Shop—all from one profile. • Gamified rewards: Create dynamic reward tiers that motivate your affiliates and boost performance. $25M+ in TikTok Shop sales. Here’s how MaryRuth’s actually did it. If you run a TikTok Shop eCom brand, this is worth studying. MaryRuth’s isn’t just a top wellness brand they’ve built one of the most effective TikTok Shop machines on the platform. We broke down exactly how they convert attention into sales, increase AOV, and build long-term brand loyalty. Here’s what’s working 👇 1️⃣ Content Creation (Where Most Brands Lose) MaryRuth’s runs a repeatable, data-backed content system. • Market Intelligence First They use tools like FastMoss to identify: - Viral formats in their niche - Top-performing competitor creators - Proven hooks and angles Instead of guessing, they replicate what’s already working at scale. • Problem → Solution Product Placement Their content doesn’t “sell.” It shows outcomes: - Clear before/after transformations - Real wellness problems → visible solutions - Education-first storytelling - This is what drives both virality and conversion. 2️⃣ Distribution at Scale Great content only works if it’s seen. MaryRuth’s ensures reach through: - Daily livestreams for consistent sales velocity - Strong creator retention, keeping top performers active - Mass UGC volume, creating social proof and authenticity The result: constant organic momentum. 3️⃣ Paid Amplification (Only After Proof) They don’t force ads to work they scale what’s already winning. - GMV Max Ads to optimize for purchases - Tight performance tracking to protect ROI Paid media becomes fuel, not a crutch. 4️⃣ Product Strategy That Matches the Platform Their TikTok Shop dominance is supported by: - Regular new product launches - High-quality formulations that deliver real results - A clear focus on wellness, a category TikTok already loves Trust compounds. Reviews stack. Sales follow. _______________________________________________________________________________ TikTok Shop wins don’t come from one tactic. They come from content + creators + distribution + paid, working together. At Maverick Creative, this is the exact framework we implement for DTC brands doing $1M+ ARR. If you want a step-by-step playbook breaking this down for 2026, comment PLAYBOOK and I’ll send it over. (must be connected)

I've spoken to over 100 operators about TikTok Shop in the last six months, and they've all shared the same shocking truth. Everyone's treating the channel like a garage sale, throwing products at the wall in the hope that something sticks. The brands crushing it aren't guessing. They're being methodical with their merchandising strategy. Here's what separates the winners: 1. Test Hero SKUs vs. catalog Most brands dump their product line into TikTok Shop. The top 1% know that less is more. The algorithm rewards focus and depth over breadth. 2. Experiment with price elasticity The algorithm actually responds differently to pricing tiers. We've tested five different price points for the same product and found the sweet spot where algorithm reach and margin fit perfectly. 3. Structure bundles strategically Test bundle configurations obsessively. We found that 3-item bundles with a 15% discount outperformed 2-item bundles with 20% off by 4X. The winners know: it's not WHAT you're selling on TikTok Shop. It's HOW you're merchandising it to feed the algorithm exactly what it wants. Here’s the truth - you can’t scale what you haven’t structured. Merchandising isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s infrastructure.
