AUTHORIZED USERS ONLY—WAIVER OF PRIVACY—CONSENT TO GOVERNMENT ACCESS AND MONITORING:
Only authorized Department of Justice (DOJ) personnel may use the DOJ’s computer system. State law prohibits the unauthorized use of public resources, including the DOJ’s computer system, except for incidental and minimal personal use. Please understand that by accessing the system, users consent to the following terms:
- Unauthorized access or improper use may result in criminal, civil, or administrative action.
- By accessing the system, users expressly waive any right of privacy they may have with respect to their DOJ issued computer, their DOJ e-mail account, or any other device, software, data, or content accessible through the DOJ’s computer system including, but not limited to, under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Penal Code Sec. 1546 et seq.) or any other law.
- By accessing the system, users specifically consent to the DOJ accessing, monitoring, searching, seizing, auditing, or disclosing any activities, communications, other uses, data, or other content on their DOJ issued computer, DOJ e-mail account, or any other device, software, data, or content accessible through the DOJ’s computer system by the DOJ or other law enforcement agencies. The user acknowledges that by accessing the system he or she is providing specific consent for government access within the meaning of Penal Code Section 1546.1(c)(3).
